Quarterly Goals: July-September 2020

Updated: Sep 11, 2020

I'm kicking off my blog by doing a classic quarterly goals recap! For those that are new to my platform, I make a list of at least ten quarterly goals to accomplish for the quarter. Not all of these are writing related, but many are. If I complete more than half, I consider it a success. If not, it's a failure, but just a sign to try a little harder next time. It's been a long while since I've done one of these, and considering the dumpster fire that 2020 has been, I did pretty well.

Let's recap April to June to see how I did:

  1. Write 100 pages in The Thundering Ones- Success!

  2. Read 2 books- Yay! Thanks, quarantine!

  3. Manage blood sugar levels- Not the best, but not the worst. Still a success in my book.

  4. Exercise regularly- I actually did this!

  5. Re-establish skincare routine- Did this, too!

  6. Meditate twice weekly- Nope.

  7. Revamp website- I did a lot of work on this new website. It's still a huge WIP. Still a win.

  8. Consolidate social media- Started on this, but haven't done it.

  9. When not working on The Thundering Ones, return to The Four Gods- Nope. TFG is still in limbo.

  10. Budget- Did this!

So last quarter was a success! Yay! I was honestly surprised because with everything that has happened since April, I didn't feel like I had gotten a lot done. But we have a new quarter ahead, so let's see what I have to accomplish.

  1. Write at least 100 more pages in The Thundering Ones

  2. Read 2 books

  3. Go to the doctor for checkup

  4. Exercise regularly

  5. Establish a social media/blog routine

  6. Meditate twice weekly

  7. Research for The Thundering Ones (does not count toward 2 books goal)

  8. Start learning Korean

  9. Brush up on Cherokee language lessons

  10. Eat healthier

  11. Only drink 1 alcoholic drink per week

How do you think I'll do? We'll see in October! I'm excited to get this new blog off the ground and I hope you'll bear with me during this trial period. I want a space to converse with my readers and other authors that's my own without the pull of modern social media. Of course, I'm always available when you need me. I have exciting things planned, so stay tuned!
